About

Anastasiia Khromova

I was born and raised in Ukraine, an experience that shaped me into a sensitive and compassionate individual. In 2006, I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, graduating with an award for the best scientific research work. From the very beginning, I’ve been deeply passionate about my profession, driven by a desire to help people heal the invisible wounds that impact their well-being.

In 2008, I embarked on a five-year journey of professional training in Gestalt psychotherapy. This transformative process included my own personal therapy, extensive supervision, and advanced specialization courses in areas such as trauma treatment, depression, body processes, and sex therapy.

Since 2009, I’ve been working as a private counselor, and my passion for this work has only grown. I find great fulfillment in supporting clients as they navigate their challenges, achieve personal growth, and create a better quality of life. Witnessing their progress continues to inspire and motivate me every day.

My approach

My approach is rooted in humanistic values and a profound respect for each individual’s unique experiences and ways of being. I believe that every behavior, feeling, or thought has a reason and function, though it may not always serve us well. In therapy, my goal is to create a secure and non-judgmental space where openness, self-support, growth, and new ways of being can emerge—allowing old, unhelpful patterns to loosen and fade over time.

I take a trauma-informed and culturally sensitive approach, fostering genuine connection and honoring authenticity. As a Gestalt-trained therapist, I focus on relational therapy, attuning to each client’s feelings and specific needs. Together, we explore new pathways to fulfillment and growth. To ensure a holistic perspective, I also integrate insights from neuroscience and somatic (body-focused) therapy, helping clients find balance across the mind, heart, and body.

Experience

Throughout my career, I have gained diverse experience working both independently and within organizations. I began as a school psychologist in my hometown, later joining an international NGO dedicated to supporting children in need. During this time, I provided counseling for domestic violence victims, offered family therapy, and assisted with adoption processes.

I then had the opportunity to work with global organizations such as the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and the World Health Organization (WHO). In these roles, I provided individual counseling and delivered training programs for international civil servants and first responders, helping them navigate the unique challenges of their work.

Since 2009, I have also maintained a small private counseling practice, where I support women and men dealing with anxiety, depression, codependency, separations, life transitions, and more. This work has always been the most fulfilling part of my career, and I am excited to now focus on it fully.
